Go Shorty It's Your Birth Month: Natalie Portman

She's brilliant, she's sexy, she's hot, she's smart, she's intelligent, her character is impeccable, she's not caught up in the hype and drama. Her personal life is her personal life. The roles she takes on are rife with substance and worth. She has lived an exemplary life thus far and show no signs of doing anything other than just that for the rest of it. I admire her deeply. I respect her a lot. I believe in her and her abilities. She has proven that she's no ordinary actress. Just go and take a look at any of her work; you'll see for yourself.

Natalie Hershlag was born on 9, 1981 in Jerusalem, Israel. She obviously knew what she wanted at a young age as proven when she turned down becoming a child model so that she could become an actress back in the early 1990s.

Her first role in an independent film was back in 1994 when she starred opposite Jean Reno and Gary Oldman in Leon: The Professional. It was evident from her performance in this film that she was destined for greatness in this profession. The Professional remains one of my favorite movies of all times.

To date she has 26 films to her credit with another two set for release on 4 December 2008 (Brothers) and another in 2009 - (New York, I Love You).

2002 - Teen Choice Awards, Choice Movie Actress: Drama/Action Adventure: Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

2005 - Golden Globe Awards, Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture: Closer

2005 - National Board of Review Awards, Best Acting by an Ensemble: Closer (shared with Clive Owen, Julia Roberts, and Jude Law)

2005 - San Diego Film Critics Society Awards, Best Supporting Actress: Closer

2007 - The Constellation Awards, Best Female Performance in a 2006 Science Fiction Film, TV Movie, or Mini-Series: V for Vendetta

2007 - Saturn Awards, Best Actress: V for Vendetta

She was a straight-A student in high school and is a Harvard graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology (June 2003 - proof once more that June is indeed a very special month in more ways than one). How's that for damn smarts?

Portman is quoted as telling an interviewer that she'd
rather be smart than a movie star. Hey Portman, how's about being both? Oh yeah, you are both now aren't you? Hooray for you! Go on girl, go on girl, go on girl! Not gonna worry about you, you're gonna be just fine!
